Elijah Wood to Star in “Tron: Uprising” Television Series

We all know Elijah Wood from the Lord of the Rings movies.

This summer he is also filming the “Hobbit” spin offs reprising his role as Frodo Baggins.

But now it has been announced that Elijah will play the role of Beck in the upcoming “Tron Uprising” animated TV series due to premier in 2012 on Disney XD.

The series will star Bruce Boxleitner as the voice of Tron and Many Moore will provide the voice for Mara.

The television series will follow the plot of the successful Tron movie franchise where a master control program (MCP) sucks people inside a computer game.



As for a third Tron movie, insiders say a lot of that has to do with the success of the television spinoff,

“If there is sufficient interest in the TV series we may use that to launch a third Tron movie. It all depends on what kind of following we can get for the series. If Disney puts its muscle behind it then the legacy will most likely continue – but kids are more familiar with today’s high impact interactive games and high graphic role playing. Motorcycles that ride a beam of light are just not as exciting to kids as they were 20 years ago.”

But even if Tron doesn’t do well on the small screen, Elijah Wood won’t have to worry because he is busy with other projects.

In addition to “The Hobbit” films, Wood will be appearing in “Happy Feet 2 in 3D” later this year.

Reprising his voice role as Mumble, Elijah will return to the Happy Feet franchise along with veterans Elizabeth Daily, Robin Williams, Matt Damon, Brad Pitt, and Hank Azaria.

Happy Feet 2 in 3D will pick up where the last one ended, and Elijah’s character, Mumble the penguin, has a problem.



His son Erik, who is reluctant to dance, encounters The Mighty Sven, a penguin who can fly! Things get worse for Mumble when the world is shaken by powerful forces, causing him to bring together the penguin nations and their allies to set things right.

George Takei - who played Enterprise helmsman Hikaru Sulu in the original 'Star Trek' television series and several "Trek" movies, came out in 2005 at age 68. He married his gay partner in September 2008 in California.

Shia LaBeouf Learns The CIA Is Recording Celebrity Phone Calls

When Shia LaBeouf started his latest film "Eagle Eye", he met with CIA operatives to get an inside look at the organizations procedures and tactics. But the actor was shocked to learn what they have on him - and other Hollywood celebrities.

LaBeouf thought while filming "Eagle Eye," the tactics that CIA ops engaged in was pure cinematic fiction, until he met up with them to do a little research for his role.

Shia soon realized that Government operatives have all the inside dirt - phone conservations, e-mails, pictures and worse - on all the top celebrities and Hollywood power brokers.

"It is reality," Shia told the National Enquirer. "The scary thing is sitting down with CIA operatives who use this stuff in real life. They played me back phone conversations I've had. It was extremely embarrassing."

Most people believed this type of Government snooping went out with J. Edgar Hoover, but it looks like Washington is still keeping tabs on what happens in the high-priced game of Hollywood movie making. Watch out Jamie Lynn Spears, they may just have that picture of you breast-feeding your baby!

In addition to "Eagle Eye", LaBeouf is ready with "New York, I Love You", with an all-star cast including Kevin Bacon, Orlando Bloom, Hayden Christensen, Ethan Hawke, Cloris Leachman, Blake Lively, Elijah Wood, Natalie Portman and Christina Ricci.

"New York" is an anthology film combining several love stories set in one of the most loved cities of the world, New York, where twelve filmmakers will direct a short 5 minute film illustrating the universal theme of encountering love within the five boroughs of New York City.

Next June, Shia LaBeouf will star with Megan Fox and Rainn Wilson in the action thriller sequel "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen", where the battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun.

We suspect the CIA will be most interested in snooping around the set of "Transformers" in an effort to learn how to transform normal everyday items into weapons of mass destruction. Some secretes are never safe, especially in Hollywood.

‘The Hobbit’ Finally Starts Filming In New Zealand – New Set Photos

It is finally happening!

After almost two years of delays and problems, Peter Jackson has finally started filming on the new multi-part 3D epic companion to the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy titled “The Hobbit”.

The decision to film “The Hobbit” in 3D was a difficult one, and slowed pre-production and set development.

The $500 million epic project has been plagued with problems that at times seemed close to destroying the idea of seeing middle earth on the big screen again.

Several script problems needed to be worked through and a labor union dispute slowed production to a crawl. MGM Studios faced serious financial problems and the team lost famed writer and producer Guillermo del Toro after he had already put two years of work into the project before it even got off the ground.

Current director Peter Jackson spent time in the hospital for stress related problems, and the earthquake in Christ Church caused further delays in New Zealand.

But after overcoming all these obstacles, filming has now started and the project is on track.

“The Hobbit Part 1” stars Cate Blanchett, Orlando Bloom, Elijah Wood as Frodo, Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Ian McKellen as Gandalf, and a possible appearance by Leonard Nimoy as Smaug.

Part one tells the continuing story of Bilbo Baggins, a Hobbit, who journeys to the Lonely Mountain accompanied by a group of dwarves to reclaim a treasure taken from them by the dragon Smaug.

Along the way there are adventures with trolls and elves, a battle with goblins, the naming of Bilbo's sword as “Sting” after a battle with some spiders, escaping from Wargs, and a barrel ride in a river.

Of course there is a great battle, “The Battle of Five Armies”, which includes men, dwarves, elves, goblins with Wargs, and more.

The journey leads Bilbo Baggins into the “Riddles in the Dark” where he meets Gollum and receives a powerful ring that will have a great impact on the future of their world.

General release is slated for Christmas 2012 - assuming no more delays, and if the real world has not been destroyed by Orcs, or the impending 2012 end of the world prophecies.

J.R.R. Tolkien would have been proud.
