VIDEO - Actor George Clooney Arrested At Sudan Rally

Actor George Clooney was arrested today at the Sudanese Embassy for protesting against Sudan’s President Omar Al-Bashir’s war crimes.

Clooney was arrested in front of the media and led away in handcuffs after making an impassioned plea over human rights issues including rape, violence, torture, starvation and other various atrocities taking place in the country.

Clooney is seeking help in getting humanitarian aid into the ravaged country to help stem the daily deaths and violence currently happening in the Sudan.



Clooney seemed concerned about his father who was also at the rally saying he was over 70 years old and had never been arrested before.

If our own Government won’t take the time to help those in the Sudan because they are too busy trying to get re-elected and maintain their elite power in Washington, then it’s time for the rich and powerful to make a noise in their place.

Sad but true.

Evan Rachel Wood Outs Herself as Bisexual

“True Blood” actress Evan Rachel Wood told Esquire Magazine this week that she was a confirmed bi-sexual.

Wood says,

"I was always into very androgynous things. Guys, girls... I'm into androgyny in general. I’m more like the guy in my relationships with women. I'm the dominant one. I'm opening the doors, I'm buying dinner."

It may not warrant her addition to our Top Ten Gay Hollywood lists, but we’re going to keep her on our radar.

Wood’s has been involved on and off with creep rocker Marilyn Manson - at one point announcing their engagement just months before calling it off.

While not admitting that she is currently in a gay relationship, she did say she was moving to New York and would be looking for, “a nice guy or girl” to settle down with.

Wood’s has just completed work on the movie “Ides of March” due in theaters this October and directed by George Clooney.

Based on the play by Beau Willimon, “Ides of March” tells the story of an idealistic staffer for a presidential candidate who gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail.

Leave it to Clooney to bring an all-star cast including Ryan Gosling, Marisa Tomei, Paul Giamatti, Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Evan Rachel Wood.

George Clooney Recovering From Malaria

The net is buzzing today with stories about George Clooney being deathly ill with malaria. Well, it’s not true.

Clooney did have malaria, in fact he has had it twice, but his reps have released a statement trying to clear everything up.

“George is completely over the Malaria he contracted while in the Sudan during the first week in January. This illustrates how with proper medication, the most lethal condition in Africa, can be reduced to bad ten days instead of a death sentence."

Clooney was in Sudan last week with execs from Google and the United Nations to work on stopping a new civil war in the troubled country. Clooney is well known for his interest and trips to that region including the Sudan and Darfur.

It should shame us that a condition that takes thousands of lives each year in the region can be treated so cheaply and routinely as to turn it into a ten day discomfort.

Malaria is a parasitic disease that involves high fevers, shaking, chills, flu-like symptoms and death, and is caused by a parasite that is transmitted from one human to another by the bite of infected Anopheles mosquitoes.

Last night, during the "Hope For Haiti" telethon, Justin Timberlake and Matt Morris crooned a version of Leo Cohen's "Hallelujah".

If you saw it, then you probably got goose bumps as the song gained in volume and meaning.

Timberlake seems most comfortable singing and performing in the pop culture arena, but last nights performance was sure to touch more then a few hearts.

It was one of the best performances of the evening, and summed up lots of emotions into one of the most beautiful songs ever written.

It's good to see young Hollywood come together in a way that is not just self serving, tabloid grabbing, over the top sensationalism used to grab headlines.

George Clooney To Appear On ER

Dr. Ross is back! George Clooney is set to appear in several upcoming episodes of "ER".

He was photographed on the set of "ER" on Thursday, as the actor returned to his old show to reprise his role as Dr. Doug Ross.

His character will be featured in at least one scene practicing medicine at a hospital in Seattle. He is also set to film scenes at County General.

The scenes will be filmed out of sequence to work around the actor's busy schedule.

And it appears he may be reuniting with his old "ER" love interest.

Julianna Marguiles, who played nurse Carol Hathaway for six years on the show, confirmed she is also shooting scenes for the show.

The "ER" finale will air April 2 on NBC.

George is also busy filming his latest comedy "Men Who Stare At Goats" due next year. The film features Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges.

The movie revolves around a reporter in Iraq who might just have the story of a lifetime when he meets Lyn Cassady, a guy who claims to be a former member of the U.S. Army's First Earth Battalion, a unit that employs paranormal powers in their missions.

He has also just wrapped work on the animated adventure comedy "Fantastic Mr. Fox", where he voices the role of Mr. Fox.

Joined by a group of voices that include Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Anjelica Huston, it tells the story of angry farmers who are tired of sharing their chickens with a sly fox, and look to get rid of their opponent and his family.

Brad Pitt And George Clooney In "Burn After Reading" - Early Review And Movie Trailer

Brad Pitt and George Clooney are in Venice Italy this week for the Venice Film Festival, but more importantly they are showing off their latest film project "Burn After Reading".

The comedy was directed by the infamous Coen brothers and is due in U.S. theaters in September.
The film, which premiered Wednesday at the Film Festival, is a story about dumb criminals and idiots - and what happens when their worlds intersect.

Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand play two unlucky gym employees who get into big trouble when the journal of an unsuccessful CIA agent, John Malkovich, falls into their hands, and they attempt to sell them as classified national intelligence secrets. George Clooney portrays an always-sick, big spender having a romantic fling with the CIA agent's unhappy wife, played by Tilda Swinton.

"Burn Without Reading" is set within a spy story for no other reason than "we hadn't done one before," Joel Coen told reporters at the festival.

If you have ever seen a Coen brother's movie you already have an idea of what to expect with "Burn After reading". It is sure to make you laugh, and may be the highlight of the late summer doldrums that plague us each year with sophomoric humor after the big epics like "Iron Man" and "Indiana Jones" are just a faded memory.

Brad Pitt will also be seen this Christmas in the fantasy mystery film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", also starring Cate Blanchett and Tilda Swanson, a film that tells the story of Benjamin Button, a man who starts aging backwards with bizarre consequences.

George Clooney is currently filming "The Fantastic Mr. Fox", due in November 2009, and also stars Cate Blanchett. The film is an animated family adventure comedy about angry farmers who get tired of sharing their chickens with a sly fox and look to get rid of their opponent and his family.
