Video - Batmanning is the New Craze – Forget Coning, Planking, and Owling!

Oh brother, here we go again.

We really need to find something better to occupy our time with these days.

It seems the recent craze of coning, planking, and owling is no longer cool.

But boy were they cool in their day – even Justin Bieber got in on the fad.

But now they’re out, so 2010 - wouldn’t be caught dead doing it.

So what has taken the place of these no longer cool social exploitations?

Batmanning.

Yes, you read that right - Batmanning.

You see, all you have to do for effective Batmanning is to hang upside down like a bat on anything you can find.

The higher, the sharper, and the more bizarre of a place the better for maximum presentation and high skill marks.

You just hook your feet into whatever you can and hang upside down and presto! You’re Batmanning.

Oh yea, if you flap your arms like a bat you get an extra skill point.



Planking, coning, and owling seemed fairly harmless, unless you planked on a car going 55 mph, or choked on your ice cream cone, but I think this new craze is going to be a problem – and sooner or later somebody is going to die.

See, hanging upside down 20 feet in the air while drunk is going to end badly for someone someday.

So keep your mouse pointed here and as soon as somebody dies we will have the sad duty of reporting it in all its gritty detail.

Maybe somebody will even get it on video.

So sad.

Video - Young Hollywood Takes a Stand against Planking

Planking has become the scourge of our country and young Hollywood is taking a stand.

No really, we literally mean a “Stand” – as in standing up.

In a parody of the “More you know” public service announcements seen on TV, Funny or Die has taken to the airwaves to start an anti-planking campaign.

In the video, several young celebrities encourage us to abandon the dangerous act of “planking” and tell us to just “Stand up straight”, take a picture, and share it with the world.



We have to agree.

Planking really has ran its course and is kind of lame. But quickly following in its footsteps has been Coning and Owling.

I guess kids today could be out doing drugs or getting pregnant so these trends aren’t too bad, nor the end of the world as we know it.

But come on, you need to be a little more creative kids.

Forget About Planking - “Owling” is the Next Big Craze – Are These People Nuts? - Photos

I think the youth of today are getting extremely bored.

The latest craze to take over the internet in recent months has been a thing called “Planking”.

It’s really a pretty simple and stupid craze that consists of laying down anywhere, on anything, on your stomach stretched straight out like a plank of wood.

But it can’t be a dumb idea because some of Hollywood’s biggest stars have done it like Gordon Ramsay and Justin Bieber. Right?

Still, pretty dumb eh?

Here is what “Planking” looks like:

The idea is to “Plank” in a bizarre or unusual place while somebody takes your picture.

Believe it or not, people have actually died while doing it – like the guy in Australia who died planking on top of a moving car.

Not too bright mate?

Well, move over plankers because there is a new trend taking over the world.

It started in Australia on Facebook and is called…..

Owling.

That’s right – Owling.

Owling is the simple process of crouching down and staring out into space – like an owl. It’s not difficult and just as stupid as planking.

Here is what “Owling” looks like:

 

Now you might think that that’s as good as it gets right?

Well, you would be wrong because you can score extra technical points if you can “Plank” and “Owl” at the same time.

Now be careful with that one – and consider that if all you have are Facebook friends you won’t be able to do this double craze because as you can see – you need two people.



If this is all people can come up with as the latest viral craze then we have lost our imagination and creativity.

But then again, they aren’t really hurting anybody and it does kind of make you smile when you see it.
