A great milestone has been achieved today… at least for William Shatner.
Captain Kirk celebrated his 80th birthday today and says he is still loving life. Way to go Bill!
While best known for his groundbreaking role as Star Treks Captain James T. Kirk of the Starship Enterprise, Shatner can be seen today on the CBS sitcom “Shit My Dad Says”.
But a lot of the younger folks may not realize that Shatner has been around for a long long time, starting his career in 1951 playing a crook in the movie “The Butler’s Night Off” and as a guest on the “Howdy Doody Show” as Ranger Bob.
Feel old yet?
Shatner also appeared on “77 Sunset Strip”, “The Defenders”, “Dr. Kildare”, “Ironside”, “Barbary Coast”, “T.J. Hooker”, “A Twist in the Tale”, “3rd Rock From The Sun”, “The Practice”, and “Boston Legal”.
He also made numerous guest appearances on familiar shows like “Mission Impossible”, “Alfred Hitchcock Presents”, “Twilight Zone”, “Route 66”, “The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”, “The Big Valley”, “Gunsmoke”, “Hawaii Five-o”, “Marcus Welby M.D”, “Barnaby Jones”, “Mannix”, “The Six Million Dollar Man”, “Police Squad!”, “Columbo”, and countless other television shows and movies.
The Man From U.N.C.L.E. ? – Wow, that does make me feel kind of old…
Happy Birthday William Shatner! Live long and prosper.
